Sue and Zara

We are two tango addicts with over 40 years of experience between us, looking to share with you the joys this dance brings.

Together we formed Two-turn Tango, a not-for-profit community group where all proceeds are reinvested back into the group. This means that we are able to invite internationally recognised guest teachers to give our dancers the chance to benefit from their broad and varied expertise. Through this, we hope to continue the long tradition of accessible and inclusive tango classes in Cardiff.

Sue

Dance has been a constant presence in my life, evolving with me through various styles and forms. I have been dancing Argentine Tango, as well as many other dances, for nearly 25 years. For three years before the pandemic, I taught Argentine Tango in Ardour in Cardiff, as well as locations abroad such as Lanzarote.

Zara

Argentine Tango entered my life in 2007 and stayed for good. For me, it has always been a wonderful form of self-expression and invaluable for physical as well as mental wellbeing. Being a scientist and university lecturer, I use key principles and approaches from my pedagogical expertise in our teaching of tango.

Our teaching is inspired by the spiral curriculum method, where we revisit key concepts that we build on with increasing complexity and depth. This allows dancers to develop a deeper understanding of these concepts and foster a stronger connection between them and others. We strongly believe the process of learning is infinite; Improvement is possible at every level.
